the women of Tibet
fill their tents with smoke
serve bowls of mare's milk
and goat cheese
and have done so for more years
than anyone knows
they dream of the ghost towns
of the old west
captured in pure light
and sharp shadow
or sometimes castles
built at the edge of the sea
when winter comes they move
to lower pastures and deal
with the many contrary winds
to be found there
it is mostly to make stars
that they were born for
and they fill the skies with them

Lovely tale

the artist proposes a dilemma
or paradox or a variance of interpretations
and realizations

the photograph as metaphor
of lingerie on naked legs

is the lingerie coming off
or are they being put on

the viewer determines
their own reality or disposition
or desire

the reader realizes
the artist is being coy
as much as

being an artist

proposes in the structure
of language itself

the experience of reading

are they different realities ?

omg - put your lingerie back on quick, sweetwater - you're in public! Different realities?
Now you're talking magic. Hell I never trust to metaphor when I all I need is a good bridge. But wait! Wait! The viewer can't determine anything because he/she is locked into a temporal seeing which is a trust not a proposal & the only structure language ever exhibits is that of being in a fluid state. Coy? Who? Me? I'm asking because you think much more than I ever have so I'm trusting you to sort me out. I always need sorting out. The women of Tibet won't sort a man out - they only give him mare's milk to drink. The women of Mongolia though - whole different story. The women of Mongolia can sort a man out with a single glance. You don't want to even try giving the women of Mongolia the experience of reading - your only hope there is to give them something they can feel.

Does this mean there's a Gingis amingus?

Crack me up! I was not offended - somewhat confused, I admit, but not offended. If I have mistaken your intent then I apologize.
Of virtues I have none & I have never been able to arrive at the end of my shortcomings. As for the lingerie coming off I have found that usually a crap ton of fun follows that act & I am a big fan.
I asked you in my first response to elaborate your contention that I was being coy somehow as I did not understand it. Those questions still stand unanswered & you have reaffirmed your contention in your second response still without support or explanation.

It is up to you now not to further muddy the water but to clear the air.

beautiful poem - simple language - like a fable. i like how it shifts from the everyday habits and details into the world of dream/fantasy. such a smooth transition. nice work, mingo! those mongolians bring out the best in a man and then use his head for polo!
