Zen Clown

i've fortified the devil
i've liquefied your god
i'm resurrecting death
by fornicating sod

i've broken wings of angels
i've rusted halo's gold
i'm the crown of thorns demanding
you do what you are told

i've twisted vows of marriage
i've aborted views of youth
i'm burning all the books
that promise you the truth

i'll leave you on your knees
praying for a sign
i'll lead you into confusion
where a void is all you'll find

i'll break the hands that offer
relief from all your pain
i'll destroy your belief system
until you’re born again

i'll level your sweet home
there'll be no place to go
you'll blindly move thru darkness
until you face your soul

take a ride with me, friend,
beyond the worlds you know
i'll show you drunken bliss
outside your damned ego

i'm the path to liberation
i'm freedom born from love
i'm the womb of the universe
light of light from above

i'll blind you with my brightness
and you'll never be the same
stripped of all conditionings
you'll see from where you came

free from wrong and right
there is no up or down
be at one with all nature
become a big zen clown

Some of this is very powerful. The poem marches from beginning to end. I like the title too. It is very expressive.

truck: "A fool or a clown, not sure if it is the same thing..."

I understand "a fool" to be ever-trusting while "a clown" knows too well the world is far too serious to take so.

you're lookin' good, Jack, despite your careless wrinkles. ;)

I've missed your replies, amigo, and their heart-felt emotions behind every word as only Jack and his associates can do so well. You have embraced your authenticity with an honesty and love that many only wish they could, much less simply understand.

Thank you for being. ;)

practically a religion for me amigo, you are too kind,
I was standing by my microwave yesterday watching the digits count down to zero
and I thought of LightningRod for some reason
not sure what it has to do with Zen Clowns
except maybe the transience of being a human being
I still miss him, take comfort in his still being here on studio eight
maybe that is what cyber space is for me
a virtual sperm bank
I thought about the old saying about "have children and let them raise you"
and not having had children to raise, I am still just a kid at 73
I wonder why I write
a guide book for myself?
a Dr Spock's manual on how to grow up
live to a ripe old age of 256 years

i'm just a fan of your writing
but sometimes I wonder who you write to when you write, I think it must be to yourself, ==========================but sure resonated with me.

I have to pinch myself just to remember the only reason I do this is for the money

why else would i expose myself if it weren't for all the money involved..?

what should we do with all our wealth when we grow up, JT?
