sometimes the unit
is a flat direction
with no president
and no erection
walkin' down where the land is wide
thinkin' bout the woman
once was his bride
his hair was dark
hers was blond
they took to the hills
and the lands beyond
they didn't care bout no revolution
to the troubled times or a solution
cause they were bound in that sweet syncopation
everywhere they looked for revelation
in those days the eyes of the heart
promised they could see in the dark
but there was plenty
they never guessed coming
when they said "i do" it had all been summoned
now one of them can't be found
the other one just wanders around
down where the land is wide
thinkin' bout the woman
once was his bride
