one in a million

Post by revolutionR » January 19th, 2014, 3:19 am

I cannot write about you no more
when you left this plane
you took everything with you
but you left your clothes
and schamattas behind
I can't see your smile anymore
no matter how much I try
it just brings tears of unbelief
the tears that make me go blind
sometime I think I hear you laugh
over there on the other side
your smile was so wide
but this emptiness I cannot fill
with memories that begin to fade
but they never really fade
they just play hide and seek
with ghosts and spirits
that haunt me with days and nights
we spent together
I cannot write about you any longer
nothing I could say would make me stronger
you were unlike anything I could ever describe
there was nothing to compare you to
you were one in a million and that is like saying
nothing is everything every time I think about it
you were so quiet most of the time I think of it
it was those dreamy beautiful eyes that said it all
they told me everything I ever wanted to know
but I could never begin to put that into words
you left me with this what I can never say
and never wake up from the dream of you

it reminds me, but yet again of
the permanence of impermanence

well expressed, C...

they say we should control our emotions
and depending on the situation
it is best that we learn to do that
when it comes to poetry
I feel it is a cross between
just that and letting the cat out of the bag

we all can get an image of a cat being let of a bag
but how much do we really know about that
metaphorically speaking

we don't say for instance ...let the dog out of the bag

Right dogs chase cats in bags
or just a bag without a cat

but as far as emotions and how we use them in poetry
that could be the subject for a book about that very thing
in all my years of reading various poets that were famous
or poets that never became famous I still gravitate
to certain kinds of unnamed emotional nuance

same thing with music and lyrics
jazz has a certain kind of playfulness like a cat
blues is more basic on a raw down level
but they both come out of the Afro American experience

poetry has deep roots also and has a timeless quality
but it shifts and moves, just as out of jazz and blues
we get rap and hiphop and that's still mutating
so since there is no more Ginsberg or LeRoi Jones ( Amiri Baraka)
who just passed away, ones wonders who will carry on what cool cats.

the bag is not friendly....I miss my cat and my best friend.

'fuck me hard' that was pretty awesome- i mean- i could say all kinds of things- but really- like you said- 'there is nothing to say'
i love you
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
