Poem # 9

The lines on this poem
gather like seaflakes across
moons gathering like the
gatherers of the past who
lived in rain checks and love shacks

Moments of sweet irony
and lacking in any prudence
of justice

Sometimes we wonder if our own life
has become as
much a parody of oneself
As it is to say
The door that opens onto a room
that's sits vacant until you
enter resembles more like an
opus of ocular obfuscation

Much like an epic
in black-and-white seen
for the first time
On your play station
video screen

And the cost of stamps
these days ... Suggests that it's easier
to write a letter then to take
dictation from your
smartphone voice recognition
system

And if you've manage so far to
complete the
essay inquiring into words

The image is nonetheless
seemingly arbitraire

too subjective to
even be subjective

like the mingling of
mood
