Surf was up
but I was down
I was not a hodad
I was a beatnik in an existential void
I was annoyed at the emptiness
on the boo tube
I could not get anything from commercials
I did not give a rat fuck where the yellow went
there had to be more to life then smoking cools
I wandered around town looking at the hot rods
everything seemed a million miles away
I was bad in arithmetic class
I smoked in the bathroom
and looked in the mirror at all the loogies hung there
I would take a puff and blow smoke on the dry blob
to see what kind of weird divination laid there
there had to be some meaning in the dripping whitish
that smeared the mirror, and why they hawked up
that saliva and spit it on the reflection on the glass
it did not look good and it had no class, maybe that
is why because it was between classes
and kids had to take out their teenage frustration
at what passes for an education system
