fishermen

Post by the mingo » August 18th, 2014, 10:23 am

the fishermen haul
the net ashore
dragging it over the wet sand
the receding water reflects them in struggle
reflects the net
the sky above them
& the boat just beyond up the beach
the net is empty
the fishermen ready it
for the next cast
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

perhaps a vivid peek from someone watching the hard work involved with earning a living catching and selling fish...but also possibly a metaphor for the toil we all face trying to keep the lights on....i lived in the Florida Keys for 8 years, so i know this scene very well
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
