there is always a clearer clear
always a unknown rung higher
than the awareness before it

and we may be so damn sure
at the time, that we had tapped into
the clearest of all clears

might even have been smug about it
especially as teens and twenty somethings
might have been convinced that others were lacking

only to find out that as we walk down the long curious pathway
trees spring from the ground that we have never seen before
mysterious birds soar like flying oracles in prismatic skies

critters not in any of the books you've seen
slither in and out of the sockets in your mind
and have you shouting, There is More !

there is always more, deeper layers
thick as thieves in the night, strata to be shaved
from the blocks of eternity, living

harmoniously on top of each other, and as we
butt up against them, the movement in our minds
can become quite abrasive

can often rub a small hole into the next layer

if you see the way to the next hole,
i'm able to smile
onward to expore

Forget awareness, forget "clear." There is always more! More more more! And I'll pay more money than I can stand to attain it! If I can.

As for all those strata shaved from blocks of eternity-- not sure, haven't had enough time, and while eternity may play cards with time until it gets bored with the idea, here we are, stuck, multiplying and warring, and it shouldn't be like that.

And we love it! We worship it! Good God we can't get enough of it.
