you told me you had no expectations
in one long breath
and were disappointed in me
in the very next exhalation,
twisted logic was always your strong suit

you told me you were free
a reckless priestess hawk
could only soar above the crowded ground
you told me I should fly with you
that you had much to express

as if I had nothing of my own to offer,
you said I need to embrace your aura
that you were gifted in ways i couldn't imagine
you emphasized that I needed to appropriately
show my appreciation

you were speechless
when I told you
what I thought of that offer
you never spoke to me again
I hope you are well

WOW- there is an offer i could refuse- sweet stories that ruffle my tail feathers= SOMETIMES tale feathers'
that sounds like another self published book of poetry- vanity- and all-
but reeling from the assualt of how i tried to get it out of them= before i realized it was INSIDE ME- and that no one else could give me that- BUT - IF YOU OLD ME THAT like tens years ago- i would have been offended-
i want to go sleep at the beach
and hear the speeches of long over loves that are even tired in my poetry

it's been helpful for me to acknowledge my relationships of the past, be they good or not so good as way of looking at my history for nuggets of time that help explain how I got here......
