Not Another Daydream

Post by Atehequa » September 23rd, 2014, 6:09 pm

A long drive down that crumbling lane
Rocky Hollow Road in a sad state of disrepair
An escape when the day becomes too insane
Soothing birdsong shooing away my despair
The few times I sat there enjoying a smoke
Far enough away from it all without hardly a care
Those pleasant daydreams from which I happily awoke

Then came that warm late spring afternoon
After traveling northwest for half of the day
There I arrived rolling in like an invasive buffoon
An ignorant bumpkin moon calf come from afar
Having not an inclination she would be there
As vivid as a wild flower and standing out like a star
A vision of beauty holding fast more than my ogling stare

Eyes, the color of pools in a mountain stream
The golden hue of an autumn field in her hair
That lovely smile, surely not another daydream
Sensuous lips I wanted to kiss, but did not dare
Set against the river and scenic woodland views
Such beauty which these seasonal vistas cannot compare
Absolutely enchanting and inspiring, this Shenandoah muse

Refreshing cause some people will get so worked up and crashing through over every small thing going on in their world, but I like when they eat what is there and enjoy the bites. Like this!
`Do you know, I was so angry, Kitty,' Alice went on...`when I saw all the mischief you had been doing, I was very nearly opening the window, and putting you out into the snow! And you'd have deserved it, you
little mischievous darling!
~Lewis Carroll
