As if the night of words
Seemed so far away
In the morning when I wake
For coffee ... Rising with the monks

To bed by early evening in the
Night air and window
The breeze in
The howling silence of dreams
Returns the night before to the
Distancing remembrances of colour
As the shapes create the lines toward
The lines create the shape within

Before sunrise
When the world in still waters
Still sleeping in the seeming phrase
