the damp phone swells
in searching call
in eggshell sunlight the undone bridegroom
my last time Rose nervous with goodbye
quivering in wind
serious skyline along the belt path
bending in a mute pose
uncertainties rack the evangelist
the river refuses conviction
the gathered bones of haiku
show through
one last clever uninnocent shared joint
smoked behind the church
the bride's tresses are mussed
the unseen hands of destiny
are just as sure
as any that are visible

a meditation on the bride
as a symbol for for the marriage of heaven and hell
or to put it more bluntly, doth the bride blush?
