Thin clouds
outside
it is raining
again
I can’t find
the moment
it started
I’ve been
waiting
trying to find
the poetry
living within
Only circles,
shadows
something not able
to be named;
maybe there is
a silver lining
somewhere
within the walls
something random
that will start
when the rain ends
where does one hide
in a poem?
Three am
Re: Three am
for any poem to become poetry
there isn't any hiding place
for the poetic nudity of soul
nicely expressed, 68degrees

Re: Three am
you can't hide in the poem but the poem can hide in you.
Re: Three am
keep writing and you will "find the poetry within"...its inevitable
honesty and patience will do the trick....enjoyed the simplicity and brevity....something I tend to struggle with...

If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
you may end up where you are heading

Thanks for the comments here. My local email writing group has been having a good discussion w/this topic lately.
Doreen's poem got me thinking about it.
@revolution: I do think that some poets do "try" to hide in their poems though. Influences the end product, I think. I know a couple from another board I frequent. It hurts them as poets b/c they try to lose themselves in the poem...kills the presentation.
Again, thanks for all comments.
