Wings of Desire

Post by WIREMAN » December 9th, 2014, 7:11 pm

obstacles like
popsicles
cold deep down
to the bone
moroniness amidst
the sink or shall
I swim
a rescue ala rin-tin-tin
circus highwire act
she was an angel
fluttering them wings
he thought of nothing
but let's get it on
with this thing
that's when he heard
them talking late
into the night
downstairs
awakening to sad
stares, all those
would you, could you,
do you dares
there's a flag blowing
frozen in the rainy
breeze
i'm walking down
Patrick St.
knowing this all ain't
about, oops did I sneeze
damn sure isn't about
you, with all your
do-waka-do & them
Betty Grable legs
smile so enticing it
could stop the parade
still we know when
to move on........(inspired by wim wenders)
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

I like this. I'm not sure I get all the nuances but I get enough to appreciate the poem. Maybe this is what good poems do---they leave you hungry for more. And you write expressive phrases. 8)

do wacko do
do wacka dont
we stroll the sidewalks
like hookers of time
taking notice more intently
these daze, not missin'
the beauty of dem gams
taking stock, stocking up
with warm thoughts for cold
nights when the ice chips
that aught to be in our glass
are in our shoes
and rinny is gettin' down with lassie
fur flyin' in our minds
'cause in our minds
we are forever young
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

thanks steve...i love it when a poem spawns a poetic response....
time hookers
canned heat momma
dylan forever young
till he got lost in
that suburban neighborhood
last year, female cop didnt
even know who he was
all the guys at the station
had a big laugh when she
called it in
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....
