landing in flames
_______

the treason of reason
freezin in the season
i chill at the sound
of words that scramble
ramble and i gamble
with the print of letters
one pop at a time
from keyboard to ski-board

i've never felt compelled
or swelled or jelled
with the then or when
by only why's and
i ask is it wise?

questions like ignition
starting the mind
to journey as far as
this jalopy body can find
streets paved by ass-at-fault
roads filled with stone

i flip and somersault
thru the heir of being
without even seeing
where do i land
when i have fallen
from grace?
_______

Not sure of the why of centering but would love to "hear" this and then it wouldn't matter how it was formatted. I like the two syllable cadence.

"…questions like ignition
starting the mind…" is a nice image.

"why's" and "wise"….nice.

Why not please the eye along with the ear..? If one is reading poetry, I believe it can and should be a visual experience as well. Paragraphing the words is not only boring but more appropriate to novels, sci-fi, bios etc. Visual indicators, such as centering is visually satisfying and and makes the read more enjoyable. True, if you were strictly listening it makes no difference.

Thanks for the comments, 68degrees.
