Ferris Wheel Box

Post by Doreen Peri » January 7th, 2015, 5:04 am

There are dimensions when there is no box.
No up. No down. No right. No left.
Perhaps if you took off your socks
and stood on your head,
you'd understand dimensionlessness
instead.

There are no boundaries of cardboard or sides.
Every projection is far and wide.
There's no need to think outside
when there is none.
Done.

Well, whatever.
It was fun while it lasted.

(Message blasted from another side.
Thanks for the ferris wheel ride.)

the wheel inside the box
like at the carnival
life is like a carnival
inside a box

we are born outside the box
but are immediately placed
inside the one provided
this is a kind of paradox

the school of hard knocks
is a lot like knock knock jokes
"knock, knock, who is there"
it's me inside the box

knocking on the wall
going around in my ball
that is flat and tall against the sky
if you add dimension, and turn it inside out
the box and ball, the wheel and all
turns it all around itself, no joke
no trick, just a change of perspective

so you see the box is a square
and the ball is a circle
the circle inside the square
and the circle squared
nothing can change that
because it is always changing

now do you see the illusion
in the carnival hall of mirrors
what goes around comes around
and you think outside the box
but you cannot do that
unless you have a box
with a jack inside it
riding the wheel
with jill
let's ball

Craig.. I liked your reply much better than my poem. I don't even know what my poem means. Your reply is terrific! xo

Connected. The image was taken in and the poem has completed its task. Enjoyed. 8)

Doreen, I like your poem and RevolutionR's follow up poem (I take his name is Craig. I'll call him that in the future).
The Irish Sea Is Always In Turmoil, Even When Calm.
