draw:

1) how you see yourself
2) how you think others see you
3) how you'd like to be seen

begin.

1) she fills in squares with a no. 2 pencil
2) she lets you copy her answers
3) she's not thinking of you

next:

1) a jello shot made with beer
2) a dear in the headlights
3) your favorite shotgun passenger

and?

1) a magpie mind
2) she's talking and she can't shut up!
3) put that on a t-shirt

next -

1) a carry-all
2) there's a hole in the bucket
3) the new suitcase in town

descending...

1) the good intentions paving company
2) dirty confetti
3) strange in a strange land

go on:

1) hot coals and cold feet
2) tempest in a teacup
3) growing like jack's beanstalk

extra credit -

1) ...the new fall season?
2) she rips what she sews
3) a phoenix just before the bonfire

some very original and thought provoking lines. Like:

1) a jello shot made with beer
2) a dear in the headlights
3) your favorite shotgun passenger

or

1) the good intentions paving company
2) dirty confetti
3) strange in a strange land

I have to mull over some of these expressions---a dear in the headlights---your favorite shotgun passenger.

and I think that first stanza is essential and plays through the poem----I don't understand everything but I'm getting things out of it.

thanks, mingo.

and thanks, dan, that was what i was playing with -

all the 1s are "how you see yourself", the 2s "how you think others see you", the 3s "how you'd like to be seen.

a dear in the headlights - nice, but terrible at confrontation, something like that
your favorite shotgun passenger - the friend who rides 'shotgun' (passenger seat) on a road trip

i'm hoping this won't be (no insult intended) a HaroHalola crossword puzzle of a piece, that maybe the metaphors can just osmose into the reader's consciousness.

good intentions paving company
is awesome---
i swear they came thru here and put in some new streets of gratitude
those wired types all hyper and bitches in suv s white ones- fuck me-
they drove on the fucking wrong side of the road
i swear it isnt getting that hard
but it isnt any easier
walking and chewing gum at the same time
her lonliness swooned in her
she didnt tell anyone what was really bothering her
she sold me a tee shirt that said 'one fucking day at a time'
she smoked crack with richard pryor
i guess that is a claim to fame
somewhere there is a party and all the dead addict s are just getting own hard core-
even jane mansfield who really lost her head
marilyn monroe
and bette davis- happy birthday mr president
smells like nasty army socks in here
and young horney men and women
quick exterminate them
in the name of oil and fracking
cocaine and alcohol
put a condom in your husbands lunch box
the kine

posative HIV THE PAPER SAID

WELL- she already knew long before he did
his skinny body shriveling up
that weakness
but she didnt say anything because her dadddy trained her to keep secrets
thats right bitch back the fuck off
are you kidding me?
the rock is going to roll
frozen he stares at the fact
that she knew
all along
