Glinda Was Right

Post by 68degrees » January 21st, 2015, 10:23 pm

Under the skin of every surface
touched is where I've been

Wherever my finger’s shadow rests,
a candle flame will flicker

Every day of every year
has a hundred cities, a thousand streets,
every one of them lit by a sunrise—

Sometimes I wish for all the things
I have now to just disappear;
then I could begin finding them
again—

I miss those times
that much

I like the haunting quality
funny how those two words go together
when describing a poem. 8)

I have now to just disappear...

feels too familiar, somewhat sad to me.

I have little use for "things" anymore,
my imagination is so overpowering that I
don't need the actual objects as possessions...

I live in a castle, drive a different car each day,
have 11 wives, about 300 girlfriends, and...
I haven't aged a day since 1983.

your poem is very nice, for real,
I feel it... thanks

life is good... is Glinda married

Nice...

"Is Glinda married?" She told me once she had found the man of her heaven, but at the last minute he told her that his jobs in life had changed and he was now putting black-and-white checks beside all his accomplishments and marriage wasn't one of them. She cried and carried on like a fish but when she swam the creek to Oz she grew wings and now only surfaces at night under starry, starry nights.

damn, I've been a professional job hopper since forever,
tell glinda... well... never mind.

I'm a glutton for the gathering of experiences...
life is the spice of variety

I don't "really" mind getting older, but sometimes, well (sigh)...it's the shits.

Appreciate the thoughts here toward Glinda. She's a tootsie sometimes.
