Overcoming

Think of me, if you must,
As a dream.
As a mythology long past and only partially remembered,
As a character from the yellowed brittle pages of a well worn book.
Let me influence but not control your present.
Let me inhabit the periphery but not hold on to your mind.
Remember us as a thunder storm, a tsunami, grass pushing through the sidewalk.
Something that overcomes.
An elemental force, all encompassing, all destroying, all creating
But brief; brief as such things must be if they are to be survived.
As time out of time.
Only then can understanding begin.
Only then can there be overcoming
Only then resolution.
From destruction, life
From endings; beginning
And from beginnings
?

"We shall overcome!" Such positivity in this!
Good to see you, Shem! Thanks for the shot of caffeine.

some people use ideas to overcome other more
pressing concerns and ideas

the idea of an idea
as much similar and seeming
as

languaging an afternoon
in a cafe
somewhere

between what is known
and what is not expected

Whatever we can imagine is real, I think Picasso said. Good work; enjoyed. 8)
