I knew a poet called F.A. Nettelbeck
back in the bad ole poet days, he was a bad ass poet
maybe the most bad ass poet in town,
Bukowski comes to mind, F. A. Nettlebeck
did not take no prisoners, no hearts and flowers he
one night after a local poetry reading, at the party
I told F.A. that I could drink him under the table
I remember saying something to him, that he
took as a sarcastic remark, it was kinda sarcastic
but I was already deep in my whiskey, so was he
he hauled off and smacked me across the chops
and I toppled over, and I got even more sarcastic
and he grinned at his buddy and they looked at me
like I was gonna get my pansy ass poet ass kicked
remember I told F.A. Nettleback I would drink him
under the table, I woke up the next morning under the table
so I won, and I never told F.A. Nettlebeck I would drink
him under the table again, as far as I know he is still
writing his bad ass poetry
F.A. Nettelbeck

Re: F.A. Nettelbeck

he was born in the same year I was, and he was a Scorpio
yeah, that figures, he was bad ass, and deep, even if
he would not admit it. Another poet bit the stardust.
So many poets I have known, have passed to the other side.
