to embrace the fog

caution can be a prudent course I'm told
but it can also leave you stranded,
dry as a withered bone on the desert floor

they say it can keep you from harm,
yet it can also keep you chained
to the radiator at the end of a long corridor

the line is razor sharp,
the slasher always hides in the fog...
why is the fog so damn scary ?

bone-chilling like the falsetto voice in midnight lace,
but do we really always need to see
what lies up ahead in the placement of boots

maybe strolling the fog can liberate
the magic of unimagined footsteps....
like the power of closing your eyes when you make a wish

Yeah! That's it! Stroll in the fog. I say go for it! The fog needs us and we need the fog. You'll never know what you'll find 'cause you can't see through it so it's important to take that stroll. Watch your step.... but DO it. ;)

I wrote a long reply to your last poem but it was such a long personal reaction to your poem, I decided to condense it to one line for public consumption because I didn't want to bore people. I'll bore you by email instead. :D

Hey, I've been walking in a fog for a long time so how could I not enjoy it? Well, to be honest, it's sort of boring. How do you think I got this way? haha

I liked the whole poem but loved this line especially:
"bone-chilling like the falsetto voice in midnight lace"

"...like the power of closing your eyes when you make a wish"

Real poets are mutants...half kid / half storyteller / half adult / and a quarter Bull shitter ;)

Fog by Carl Sandburg has always been one of my favorites.
