the theory of nothing

Post by saw » February 25th, 2015, 12:17 pm

idealism
might be
wanting to be
that person
that someone else
just can't wait
to see again,
we grew up
in the age of movies,
advertising...
our brains
bombarded,
claims from sexy women
'bout the virtues of viagra
and four hour erections
we are shaped
everywhere
with seductive imagery
the creations, the
masterpieces
of well compensated minds,
charlatans
conflicts of interest
nothing is sacred
no ground unfit to trample
we learn the laws of attraction
from paid strangers
it's all pathetically simple
subliminal,
then one morning
we wake up
look into the bathroom mirror
cry into the fog,
I've been had !
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

If we had a like button, I'd hit it on your post Steve----which I kind of did---and on Doreen's comment and Tom Waits link.

I'd love to add a LIKE button! The only way I've found to add one is to add a FB like button, which means, every time someone likes something, it would show up on FB. I don't want that! I just want a like button for this site, not connected to FB. Wish I could find one. I'd LIKE that! :D

yes wireman, the mirror can be surprising these days....I often check the mirror in the hallway before I go out, and have adopted a little saying, " That's all you get ".....speaking to the world I may encounter....ha ha....best to keep a sense of humor and perspective of what is really important I guess....same could be true of our art, That's all you get....from me today

crack me up!

and saw, mirrors remind me most these days that no one ever has to go looking for truth because it will come looking for you, and it knows exactly where you live - 8)
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
