ruby necklace

the jewels had been draped around her neck
as a young woman
she knew nothing of these things
she wore them sometimes while swimming
once in jamacia
she jumped off a cliff
did a summersault
lost her gold chain
and yelled
RASTA
and the most beautiful naked men with dregs came from everywhere diving
over by home sweet home
the treehouse
negril
a beautiful rasta man gave it back to her-and he said
'she throws her gold to the sea and the sea give it back'
one ruby necklace with a matching ring and necklace
she lost and earring
her mother in law made a ring out of the other one
she had the ring and necklace
12 years later
she did a somersault under water
and it was gone
the ruby necklace
was eaten by a fish
the poor hawaiian man took his catch of the day home to the hale
and she cleaned just like it was any other fish
but when she opened up the belly
there glistening in the guts was the ruby necklace
she was very happy =
that is how she accepts the loss of a material thing
because there is always a good story there somewhere-
where the ruby likes to go= it will go= and light up with a glow- real slow like- where they belong

I understand but on the other hand I have a friend who yrs ago told me "Nothing is ever lost" - I wonder how he feels about that now, he's in a federal pen at the moment and has been for several yrs with a few more to go - sexual deviancy of some sort I'm told was what got him there - I think about him from time to time and wonder just how many of his philosophies still make any sense to him - reading your piece made me think of him for the first time in a couple of years - wonder if any of his rubies still shine for him...

where does the mind go?
mind? mind? - no such thing! Ever! I've looked just everywhere for six plus decades and I've never seen a trace of it anywhere - not once!
So today I declare there's no mind anywhere - nobody here but us chickens - and if George Corley Wallace was still alive he'd be agreeing with me and saying too that the time is coming home to roost - & we'd raise a glass of homemade to No Mind anywhere & belch, burp, & fart !

NO MIND? NO MIND?
how can you endorse such tyrannical ideer at once liberating and same time obtrusive?
buddha was a nose picker that fact doesn't get brought up enough but it is important here.
what i mean to say is, i have a wedgie. how do i know i have a wedgie and perceive such a thing without a mind, amen, a vehicle to interpret this damn wedgie?
no mind, eh?
i like the way that sounds but
how do you know?

Reminds me of the old Steinbeck novel "The Pearl"….it's somehow logical that things somehow end up where they are or where they were meant to be or in the last place one looks for something lost.
Now, if we could only translate that logic to Alzheimer patients when they lose their minds. I read somewhere (always believe the internet, right?) that the medical world is within twenty years of a head transplant and I thought "what would I do with someone else's wants or memories?" Would I really want that in lieu of Alzheimer's?
I'm sorry, but I do think about this stuff.
But I did like the thoughts in your writing. That counts for more.

judih, ya know I could run with that but these guys are threatening me with having a mind so I got to duck out quick - maybe some other time - and don't forget the fish !

Pay no mind to the noise people make outside
The mindless chatter
Pay no
