first day of spring twenty fifteen
the snow descends like frigid water vapor
that didn't get the memo,
white puffs of anti-springness, dance like they belong here

they dot the little heads
of the lavender crocus babies
who try to cover their faces
etched with the frozen tears of the forlorn

but I know they are hardy
strengthened by the evolution brought to us by fossil fuels,
the warming planet, the climate
changing like hocus-pocus-damn-it's-hopeless

the rising seas splashed like cheap cologne,
but thankfully for the residents of florida
governor rick scott has all the answers
to the challenges facing the ailing health of our mother

No One, from this day forward should mention
any of those terms I listed above, not in His state !
