the promises of babylon

Post by wylde » March 26th, 2015, 7:37 am

.

a sirens soldier
ululates undulating thoughts
to only the whisperscreaming empty
crested on a dissolving dune
liquid sand swallowing him
slowly whole
until all that is left
is a cleft mind
in a glass cage
marching a leather salted tongue
that is not his

thoughts of death
brush his shoulder
her swivelling eyes
husked
in a barren chrysalis sun

empty echoes
ache
filling
a pitted stomach
as the starlings scatter
blistered in his
undistilled silence

hanging gardens
succulent with promise
cascade away
before his shimmered eyes
just mirages of myth

incandescent will
vaporises in the lifting veil
of a sand papering shroud
the promises of babylon
squinting away
in the haze of
unstroked cuneiform eyes

the words hold the richness of the desert in their sturdy arms......luscious imagery
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Babylon will always be the foolish,
overbearing desert empire, walling us
up inside, separated from nature.

Or maybe I read this too personally,
given all that time I spent roaming
the rocks and digging Jah roots.
