last night's melodies

Post by saw » March 29th, 2015, 1:12 pm

limbs loose
stretched ontological bands,
these words here
need exercise, just like
cold muscles, the guru's
tongue flickers side to side
follows the biorhythms
of my scattered thoughts,
they run like a beggar's tears
prepare me for the flood

the levee breaks zeppelinesque
fanfare strings accompany my mood
fit as a bluegrass fiddle, the words turn-on
the virginia reel to real, I hear
fresh mandolins, retrofitted banjos...
the bass stands up by itself, walks
limbo-low 'cross the floor, finally
my poem is melodic, at last my lips
unlocked, for me to sing a new song
tomorrow is full of promise
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

"...they run like a beggar's tears..."

Yes. I can not only hear last night's melodies, now I can see them.
