inopportune wardrobe malfunction

clipboard committee waits at booked table
pencil-skirted candidate coordinated with blazer
steps into low-slung Pontiac
hears horrible rip of split seam
sudden mad dash back holding ass
past the garden-hose weilding yard boy
into quick bedroom exchange for basic black skirt
f-bombs the way through lunch rush traffic
made it on time
to schmooze the hell out of 'em

***this is the sequel poem to the 'killing the interview' poem...it happened yesterday exactly as above. I did split my pencil skirt, I did have to run back in to change, there was a yard boy with a water hose squirting all over the apartment building.****

that's just it, whoaisme, I left in plenty of time --but since I was leaving from my current job, not from home, the skirt disaster made me have to go all the way home, change, get back on the road in lunch rush traffic and then drive 40 miles to where the interview was. I managed to get there on time and not get a speeding ticket !!

I considered duct tape, or maybe a stapler to repair the skirt but it was just too tight -- unless you've worn a pencil skirt, you wouldn't understand
