shingles
feel like a giant
animal urinated on my head
dug its claws into my skull
my scalp is on fire
skin peels off my back
it is one scale at a time
my hair will not grow
or my nails
i got rear ended-
my broken back brought shingles home again
like a bitch from a bad bar
booby prize is i got a real doctor from my car insurance

the doctor
does not know what it is
?
my friend figured it out
she talks to the doctor for me
apparently they dont understand old hippie english
i think that pulling my hair out and picking my head
like a crazy woman
would be enough for them to put me out
let me fucking sleep-
forever-anti biotics- more yogart then is normal
headaches that feel like a three petal to the metal flower- grinding on my nerves-
i want to rob a bank
and go buy enough pain medication so i dont feel tortured anymore

the raw honesty in this piece literally had me scratching my head in empathetic pain...dear jana...i really feel for you honey...had shingles on my back last year...no fun....and i wasn't even in a car wreck...oh man girl...i could mail you some drugs they gave me for my kidney stone that wouldn't pass....geez our medical "system" can't see the forest for the trees...
you need to sleep through this....from a poetry standpoint, I love the way you expressed this ordeal....hang tough.....my fave part was about the " old hippie english"....keep your sense of humor as a weapon
