No hiding place.
Yeah, the "Warrior Class"
is a lot of centuries old.
They say it's genetic.
Are we happy with
random mass-killing, or
hiding under a fucking desk
when government tells us?
And why worship swords?
Just stab and get it over with.
We've done this for centuries,
so it must be right, right?
(wait, that last part was about Sue's poem-- sorry.)

I remember the drills (sirens and the ducking under the desks). I'm sure that would have saved us...I know I always felt better

Our school even had a "nuclear' label on it...like it was a safe house or something.
"Centurion's sword" is a grand image.

I remember hearing someone say during one of those drills....tuck into a ball so you can kiss your ass goodbye.....do you think they were being insincere about that method of protection.....hiding from radioactivity.....or was this once again, and again and again more of the fear mongering that prevails today...keep folks afraid, and you've got them by the short hairs....honestly even at a young age, I thought it was stupid....I knew my desk couldn't keep me safe....right about that same time I started to question the nuns at St. Dominic School asking them, Won't God Keep Me Safe ?
