I'm still listening to that old beat
the sound of those cat's words
licking that paradise milk
in my beatnik head
in those days in these days
jazz was better
talking that jazz language
into the wild crazy night
what is cool is still cool
what was uncool is more uncool
Kerouac makes me strong, but he
was not the center of the movement
the lost generation, he was the center's
voice behind all those other cats who paved the way
which is going on today, we got to make the poetry
pocket full of words, that I carry around
like magic trinkets, poetry is a state of mind beyond
i don't have to get Ginsberg intricate, the cosmos
blows my mind, we have hip words we haven't used yet
they are still hiding under poems, that have been long
gone, baby. I lived in the poet streets, when poetry
was bitter sweet, I was in the beat, mondo bongo, baby
that old beat

Yeah, someone has to pick it up and go a little furtherKerouac makes me strong, but he
was not the center of the movement
the lost generation, he was the center's
voice behind all those other cats who paved the way
which is going on today, we got to make the poetry ...
