Grand Pooh Dada Sir Eel

Post by Doreen Peri » April 29th, 2015, 1:14 am

I worship the Grand Pooh Dada Sir Eel.
I feel my surge through enlightenment
as excitement, make no mistake
about it. There is no way I could fake
this orgasmic quake of earth shattering
delight! Sometimes I get so darn aware,
I scare myself until my face is as white
as a ghost. I welcome a host of realizations!
Each moment is a unique creation. One day
I will be a sage seer! That moment gets nearer
and nearer or it appears to, just like your side
rear view mirror. Sing it with your axe, pumpin'
the pedal on the wawa! All hail to the Grand Pooh
Sir Eel Dada! He's a snake. He keeps me
awake. Crawls into my mind. Line after line
after line.

ha ha, whatever works....use caution, objects are closer than they appear
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

I could picture you reading this out loud, as it seems it was written with that in mind.

Maybe I'll record it. Thanks, Craig. Almost everything I write, I hear in my head as spoken word. To me, that's part of what poetry is.... word music. ;)

I originally wrote this as a comment to one of your poems. Thanks for the inspiration. I edited it a bit, but not much, added a couple of lines, removed one word.

Here's another one I wrote in 2008... titled "Sir Eel"

Sir Eel, the punster,
silver juxtapositions
incongruous on his
thin decorated skin,
didn't know exactly
where to begin
so he slinked out,
belly down,
slimy frown unbecoming,
scaleless like an elongated
resemblance of a dream.

well that is the last time I will ever post on that AT site, I finally told that anal arse that runs the place like some academic tyrant, off. Good riddance. This woman posted a lovely poem, and one of the anal critics made a point that the poem was spoiled because she did not put a punctuation in one word. How did that jerk get control of the site? It fosters a mentality that is more about academia then poetry. No wonder people like that idiot Bob gets away with so much bullying. It's really tragic, It's good to maintain a place where people cannot just call each other names, but, really I said that that guy needed to get a life, because of his asshole comment about the punctuation. So disgusting.

They should rename that site .... bulliesallowedhere.com .. hah! Hey, glad you got it off your chest and yeah, they're more into the cold mechanics of it, not what real poetry is about. The owner doesn't call bullying bullying... in fact, you're not even allowed to USE that word there. Maybe they should call it insultsareus.com. Oh, but you can't use the word "insult" either. You are one of hundreds who have left because of the tedious insults to art. Notice nobody has ever even bothered with attempting to insult you? Why? Because they know you don't give a shit about their opinions. You're stronger than that. I don't see anything wrong with critique that's done to be supportive and helpful, especially when someone's working on a piece to submit for publication because editors DO pay attention to punctuation, etc., but if it's presented in a mean-spirited, deliberately insulting manner, then screw that. That type of behavior shouldn't be allowed on any site, in my opinion. If people don't respect each other, what's the point? That's our only rule here... RESPECT. Personal attacks and insults aren't allowed here. Critique? OK, but ONLY respectfully and with the attitude that a person wants to help.

Well, whatever. That's a critique site. This is not. THIS is a WRITERS site. And an artists site. All sites are different. Hope you feel better getting it off your chest.

I have been getting it off my chest ever since I wrote my first poem
and I will be getting it off my chest, when they pry the bloody pen
out of my hands. 8)

 if your not getting off your chest, then it is not worth writing about, that does
not mean all poems have to sound like that, it's what makes the poet want to write
to begin with. I guess some poets, say to themselves, "I feel so wonderful today,
so perfect, so in love with everything"
