A promise,
That you would always be there
That you would never walk away.

Here I see it
The hell that should have been fought for
God knows I tried.

Alas I failed
Again with the one sided relationship
What the hell was I thinking.

I knew it was a mistake
But yet I allowed myself give in
And here I am again.

Alone in my heart
Crazy in my mind
Lost without that one.

Finding myself now
Slow and undefined
Full of fear and complete loss.

But it matters not
Tis done and over
You walked away.

And now here I am
Gazing to my future tide
Knowing that we are lost.

Only wishing to start over
But understanding that we may never
Going back is dangerous to us both.

And alas I will survive
I see that I've been forgotten
But how to forget you.

Yes I know
Farewell to the friend
And to our promise.

unrequited love is a bear
with claws that slash at the heart
and land too often when we least expect it,
fortunately we are able to recover
from the wounds in time, but oh
how time can drag, creep along
like an invasive species of vine
that needs to be killed, and tossed
in a ditch by the side of the road,
love yourself, move from A to B
then C to D, time is not your friend
at the moment, stand strong
and know things will certainly improve
and real love is still out there......

It's a strange thing.....
This emotion called love
It starts so well
And ends for them but neve for me.
