anyone fool can fell a tree
but can you keep the tree
from killing you, trees don't
always fall exactly where you intend

sometimes they bounce off
a neighboring branch, if you are
standing too close you could be injured
or worse, always consider the wind

the lean, and the balance, the tree
will topple often before the saw cuts
all the way through, if the kerf
is closing up instead of getting larger

you have misjudged the balance,
Do Not keep sawing my love
in the hope the tree will change its mind....
trees never change their minds

Great poem, though I'm sure I've taken it differently than you've meant I still love it. Thank you.

thanx mark...and jess, don't be so sure, you may be totally on target....that's the beauty of posting a poem and turning over to the public....many interpretations are possible...none of them are wrong
