el macho

Post by saw » June 2nd, 2015, 10:00 am

he was tough
cagney tough, bogart tough
green beret tough, rough
as the sands of iwo jima

nail tough, cheapsteak tough
badder than leroy brown
walked taller than buford pusser
with his iconic baseball bat

he had the swagger
no one had the guts to call a swish

in the shadow of the rio bravo
on a lonesome dusty trail, the man
in the black pants and black shirt
wearing a black ten gallon hat

riding a rustled black stallion
told the Duke
he was aimin' to shoot his dog

john wayne's character took a slow
deep breath, calmly cocked his winchester
said to the black-hearted cowboy, " well mister
a man oughta do what he thinks is best."
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
