when is the best time to leave the bar, settle up
all of your debts the best you can, will we know,
will we become aware soon enough that it's never cool
to be that guest that overstays his welcome, that
unsolicited pest slurring his speech like that creepy jethro tull sot

with his runny nose and his locomotive breath,
I hope I can read the signs, impact the outcome
sail away like a glorious black swan
gliding on fire, an effortless pyre of tomorrow
bound for new adventures in the ashes of renewal

From before I remember you've said you aren't interested in getting your poems published but I think that is wrong. Look at these lines:

with his runny nose and his locomotive breath,

really good lines. They should be published somewhere. Great that we have them here but the problem with these forums is that poems get buried quick. Your poems should be preserved for future readers.
