Tonya, she don't know about haiku
she takes my blood
puts it in small tubes
talks the whole time she's doing it
says goodbye to me while smiling
and calls the next one waiting turn
day in day out this is how
it is for her
light conversation
& the taking of blood
to feed her family
to buy her house
all the way to keeping her children
in shoes

I was wondering how many words per pint

sucking bodily fluids all day long isn't for everyone......you paint a clear picture

Nurse tonya
with each test tube
you write haiku

had a bloody butterfly vision
slipped needle back of
thine hand, she appeared
then vanished gracefully
@ 3am.
