Even Shrimps Have Their Day

the revved up harley thunder demands my attention
the sideways rain makes me get out of my bed
close the double hung windows, blink both eyes
as the western sky goes flashbulb on me
I can feel the power of the lady venus
the concussions vibrating the strings of my heart,
I can feel my blood racing like a cheetah 'long the arteries
it's 3:10 am, and I've never been more awake
never more alive than this moment....the constellations
have spoken with one voice, new horizons are no longer
unimaginable, pluto is no longer the insignificant dwarf they thought
no, this woman has many suitors, these men that have waited
ten years to see her face, and maybe just maybe
this wild tribal dance outside my windows is all connected,
a rocket-ship soars by the big moon of charon
and the energy is felt in my backyard, whatever is going on
I won't be going back to sleep anymore, my veins
are doing the mambo, my eyes are toothpicked for maximum
acceptance, my fingers are tingling over a pop gun at high noon
this little ole heart is something brand new
the sideways rain makes me get out of my bed
close the double hung windows, blink both eyes
as the western sky goes flashbulb on me
I can feel the power of the lady venus
the concussions vibrating the strings of my heart,
I can feel my blood racing like a cheetah 'long the arteries
