the artist is buried
just below the surface of the dirt
I know this
every time I listen to van morrison
make music from scraps of his soul

stitched together afghans

of ageless voices in the choir
of eternity....he's telling me
to let it all out, stop holding back fool !
set the artist free
to gallop wildly in fields of crayola splendor, or

go get a job at walmart

click those fucking heels dorothy
listen !.....do you hear the dogs baying
like sister and brother wolves
for a little more authenticity, I Do !
I can also hear the tin-whistles

only heard by our ilk

they signal me

sabotage the electric fences

walk on out

into it

away

thank you van

love ya, man

ever since "them"
and his instant
transformation
to Astral Weeks
like he was reborn
and took me with him
I journeyed with Van
as best I can
but his discography
overwhelms the wallet
but Pandora saved me
giving me Van in increments
which is all this old man
is becoming like Van himself

Yeah, van has an amazing body of work....been listening to the double CD called Van Morrison New York Sessions recorded in 1967....pretty cool stuff...with The Sweet Inspirations, Cissy Houston, Dee Dee Warwick and Myrna Smith backing him up....sooo nice

apparently he was very difficult to work with....had just lost a friend Julie....which I'm not sure, but might be who he was singing about on T.B. Sheets...now I'll have to research that

more trivia....Brown eyed Girl was originally Brown Skinned Girl

another angry boy from Belfast made good... 8)
