how will knowing the precise time of day
make me feel any better than I do now
how will that tidbit improve the quotient of my status
tracking all the evaporating seconds with your swatch

the time of day doesn't make me feel bad or good, or anything
it's more of the relentless quest to collect more data
more of the mindset to be the fastest car on my block
and now we know my identity is being stored in Utah !

We live in a world that demands to know our habits
identify the ways we spend our time, the ways we spend
our money, big brother is on steroids and he's in a rage,
but I am not the typical consumer-addicted citizen

I am just a flake drifting atop the planet, floating
in my buoyant spacesuit of kryptonite, more comfortable
with a celestial paperback and a double thick moon pie
than searching for the whitest hottest trends

Nice. You're right. Big Brotherism continues to build, as well as runaway consumerism and earth-extractionism on the back of running up ever more massive levels of debt ...

When I rail against these things, I tend to sound like a bitter old dinosaur. You say it better than I do ...

I like this one, don't really know why but I really like it.
