passed me by

Post by saw » August 28th, 2015, 11:43 am

the money is gone, so how is it
that I am set for life, my investments in intangibles
certainly not on the par of derivative hedgehogs chewing
on exposed legs, no I never made that million bucks

I thought we'd all be millionaires, I mean
we all worked our asses off, the eight hour day
seldom seen in the expansionist plan of unpaid overtime,
so, so many weekends pleasing some soulless asshole boss

and here we are scraping the brine in the pickle barrel
for discarded dregs of humanity, too old now
to alter our consequences much as they relate
to faux leprechauns and their lucky charms

but it's all good, my wealth is in the rhyme of my health
my fortunes are in the eyes of my children
my account is banked with the richness of friendships
that other thing, well....it just passed me by
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Very beautiful and very powerful saw. Im in the soulless asshole boss stage now. If only if only my dreams would be more than just dreams.
And above me the stars align
But not yet with my own
And the night birds sing
Whilst the demon haunts this restless soul.

aww yea good one saw!

i especially enjoyed the last stanza

while maybe not providing closure, it sure hits home the fact that you know what is important to you.

and that's a rare fish to catch

go on my friend!
