Sunday Morning ( for saw down Baltimore way )

sunday morning
listening to old swing tunes
in the kitchen playing yahtzee
the throws could be better for me
this woman i'm playing
is kicking my ass all over the scorepad
but i got food in the cupboard
a cozy bed
a big lazy dog
a roof between me
& the sky when it rains
the river is to my back
birds fly over its waters
catching their food on the wing
my location is somewhat
of a mystery to me at present
all i think i know is
i'm somewhere this side
of an afterlife
but no more quests after knowledge for me
because it's my turn to roll
i need three fives
to make the top

oh yeah !....the good life has nothing to do with money of course, and as we age the sweet pleasures of the basics and a few creature comforts shine like the northern lights...

well done, my friend...c'mon 3 fives !

it's the same in baltimore, or anywhere on the planet... 8) ....acknowledge the good stuff
all around you...take the time....repeat it.....every day....this is what's good in my life

I like it. These poems that have coherent stories---and I relate to them----are a pleasure to read.

Fantastic! I remember when my family and I used to play. Such a vivid encounter. I love it!
