in the shadow of the canyon
lay the lizard in a cool spot
took my mind away
from all the thought
about the past, present and dreams of a future

but those images melted like tears
sweat
gasping for air for a hand to hold
any kindness from another human being
when challenged i failed a few times
but i was not a loser


you can love the only way you know how
sometimes i cannot remember what that feels like
spooning
laughing loving
missing you in the sunlight
the sand and the sea on your skin
now that you are an angel
loving me from the other side
i am grateful
i do not hide
from the lizard i heard he grew a new tail

just gonna say, really beautiful poem... on this one jana,... any further details would detract from the emotional power....

Creativesoul, I too am in the place you are now. It is sad when we reflect on the past. But I've come to the conclusion that in order to keep the sad things away is to make memories we want to forever last in our hearts minds and souls. Don't wait for the memories to come to you, go out there and make them yourself. Ask a friend to dinner laugh hard, wash away the sad memories by talking about them with your friend. The point is to never hold to regret. And if you feel you will regret something then don't let the fear hold you back. Never regret again my friend. "Live for day, for tomorrow is never promised to us"
