rotting

when I look around the outside of the house
all I can see are hours of repair, so I turn my head
try to grasp the scope, of the slavery of ownership

I'm starting to embrace ever so slowly the concept
of condo, let someone else do it all for you, I used
to be so anal, keeping up... but now it all seems silly

I did my part I guess, kept up that is, but this awareness
is sobering, the window sill and I are exactly the same
we're both rotting away and there is no one to prevent it

the window sill and I are exactly the same
we're both rotting away and there is no one to prevent it
comes down to it that's certainly the most part of a truth 8)

good one, SAW, and one I certainly relate to. As time continues piling on age the desire to do things is limited to so much less than yesterday. I look forward to the time when doing what *needs* to be done is superseded by *wants* to do without guilt.

This poem I understand and see the point of it. Well, written. I like a lot of the lines

great close

the window sill and I are exactly the same
we're both rotting away and there is no one to prevent it

and these

all I can see are hours of repair, so I turn my head
try to grasp the scope, of the slavery of ownership
