Older women

I looked into the eyes of a woman that spoke with a New York accent
She was coming back from volunteering at meals on wheels
She had pink on her shirt and was radiant
Those wrinkles from smiling
Spoke of many loves- stories of children and grandchildren
Rolled off her skin
All that lovin
The professor read a story about the little people
She read with inspiration
Adoration
I listened in admiration
Although dentures were new to her
She did quite well
I told her so
She was proud and happy
She taught a class in Celtic myths and legends
A pagan woman came and lectured
Fascinated by a world barely touched on by Stonehenge
Beltane festivals at the spring equinox
You have to listen-- like a fox
I have an elder that came to see me the other day
Her body seemed to be giving way
What a fascinating women she has been
How fortunate I have seen the things she tried to teach me
Aye I balked many times
Only again by rhymes
Did I hear her music- a thousand times
She was coming back from volunteering at meals on wheels
She had pink on her shirt and was radiant
Those wrinkles from smiling
Spoke of many loves- stories of children and grandchildren
Rolled off her skin
All that lovin
