Inside Out

by leafsailors ghost
Out on a wind swept plateau
words on layers of words
empty hours turned inside out,forgotten
who gathers the shadow flowers for the table?
poets call across the empty air
what strange force answers there
to know who stands
with isolations empty hands
why are we so journey bound?
out on unforgiving ground
the horizon line of sundowns song
poems in long shadows cast
swallowed by the night in silent disregard
sunrise find another day
sitting on the edge
the green valleys singing river far below
return down the switch back trail
leave the old bones of poems
bleaching in the sun
