Midnight hour

Night bike rides in Portland Oregon
The brightly lit bridges glowing
Reflecting on the river
Trains signal in the night
The machine inside wakes up
Wants to glide
Past the dress shop
The wine bar
The coffee house
Past the rattling flagpoles
And hotel
To the green brightly lit lawns
A long the river wilamatte
The dog is practically flying
Accross the lawns
Usually heavily populated with geese
And the 420 bench

The wheels go round and round
Boats in the harbor
I'm sure my boyfriend has a yacht
Moored there somewhere
Why not? Maybe I'll win the billion dollar lottery
Open an art school
Yeah

Breakfast poem was there I see the lighted bridges and hear that empty but beuitiful night ride. I have ridden a beautiful translucent blue eyed horse
down a dirt county road
we know like a good friend
in the quiet hours of the morning
I share this in return
the full moon lighting the dust
rising behind the happy horse at full gallop
good morning dear poets

I love a good bike ride - that glide is sweet ain't it? I love the roll, the whir of spokes cutting air, if I listen real close and everything else is quiet the whir of the spokes sounds like some kind of whisper turbine - all the sights & sounds - you are out there in the activity -
immersed - taken up in - but winter here, a winter that can't seem to make up it's mind about what it's gonna do - two days ago it was 50 degrees, today 21 degrees & wind blowin' snow coming - o let me stop - enjoyed the poem, Jana 8)

yep the glide is a fine one- portland makes quick decisions
a few days ago it was swallowed by snow
today the sun peeked at us and laughed
