i came to town
looking for some
of that vanilla tobacco flavor
but all i get handed
are approximations of same
all authentic & all for sale of course
and what the hell did i expect?
i shudder to think
what might happen
if i came here asking
for belgian cocoa

slowly i turn
at those words
like asking for
a cuckoo clock
