It Poem

Post by leafsailors ghost » February 29th, 2016, 12:17 am

A poem, any thing written down or sung or said at one time trumps prosaic when illuminated by the abstract sense logic
a story told the same way every time in rhyme except when its not quiet just so
that is ok also so
words
run down
the page
in a visual rage
sounding the round gong all along
or so try to belong to a long counting club rub adub dub
read out loud to the crowd be proud
it is not poetry you see unless you can make rules for it is that it?
thats the first rule to be broken as a
token of my appreciation for the form
of the formless you tell me what to do
I do not think so
I will not try to make you understand
you only want to have rules
because freedom
is free no you will not
rule me
it is a poem
no one can own that
an it poem
is this

At a differnt sight I encountered a lot of discussion with folks who think they can say what is and is not a poem , to deny the poem is to deny the poet, it can not be done . To disagree is only to narrow the view ,not change the scene. Some" poetry" may be word stacks or nonsence ,that is what it is,it still reflects the creative prosess by defalt . I support free poetry . © david wetzel 2016

agreed...any form of censorship that claims to know what real poetry is merely delusional

to restrict an artist, to try to force them to follow some self righteous methodology is short- sighted at best and autocratic at worst to the point of attempted murder ( metaphorically, of course, ha)

those who wish to place art in a stranglehold , are already dead...they may revel in some kind of control they exert, but have no love for the work.....for love is the thing that opens doors

open minds must prevail.....but since openness rejects control....sometimes the open minds must simply walkaway....leave the tight-asses to their own devices
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
