this world's design is universal.....
that means most of the people
materialize to be adaptable, are
constructed to fit into the big system's
background structure that discourages revolution,
absorbents, of the dominant paradigm...but
occasionally there is a glitch
in processing, and a reject like me
squirts through the pores, this is why
the world can seem so odd to me,
this is why I can't find a comfortable booth
to eat my lunch in peace at the cantina
and, so it is for some of us
defective, by all the popular methods of human
evaluation, we come to love the black swans
swimming in the reservoirs above the great whites
knowing it's all good, perfectly content
hiding in the seaweed....
there is no loneliness in the entanglement there
it's the marvelous sanctuary of neptune's unique eyesight
the trident hurled at the claustrophobic clouds
the poetry
the music
the oils, the acrylics, the pastels, and of course
the watercolors
the sun, the moon, the changing tides,
the duckling was never ugly to begin with....
he was different
