a fool) where
there's so little
to disagree
with the fool.

the thing
about that jewel
is it can glint
confusing tints
of light passing
through matter.

a fool's jewel
is unwearable.
or only seen
in a glimpse
of a gait
or a glance
through crowds.

hidden jewels
are dearest.
hiding from jewels
is hardest.

a fool's jewel
cuts
slices like
clever hands
through still-
beating flesh.

a fool's jewel
rends
hope from eyes
when it's dull
with lies.
